Stephen and Alice shared their studio work from MIT and then we had a good discussion about the challenges and politics of being a designer or planner in Solo. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/solo.kotakita.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/unsblog_01.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"IP 1\" width=\"300\" class=\"alignright size-large wp-image-483\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/solo.kotakita.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/unsblog_02.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"IP 1\" width=\"300\" class=\"alignright size-large wp-image-483\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/solo.kotakita.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/unsblog_03.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"IP 1\" width=\"300\" class=\"alignright size-large wp-image-483\" \/><\/p>\n<p>So what&#8217;s on the students&#8217; minds? Some topics that came up today: rivers, public spaces and why some never get used, how and when to listen to the public during the design process, the role of architects in mediating conflict between communities and government&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Great talk!
